The content challenge
Marathon and sprint both have it's own challenges and require intense training. One focus on short distance goal while the other on long miles ahead.
Building business is like a challenge of a Marathoner. A challenge, where we keep pushing ourselves in a steady, continuous motion keeping energy, patience, and passion in reserve to endure for the miles ahead. While we can always add & cherish ourselves with a burst of sprint power and speed in regular intervals. This will give a major push to the business. We highly recommend the same.
Similarly, building content for your business is a long race, where we attune the content in anticipation of need & challenges ahead. Meanwhile to benefit from periodic events or short term challenges giving a major push to sales. We recommend to consider applying ( sprint) content which could give us the desired result during that particular event. An an email campaign, newsletter mailing, whatsapp campaign with offers, seasonal discounts etc. should help. Please email us to know more on exclusive offers.
Understanding the challenges
Bhaskar, an entrepreneur was never a man of sprint, even if you ask him why not push for more sales, his usual comment would be “Slow and steady wins the race”.
We had worked together for a Tourism firm, while I focused on Holidays & Resorts, he used to be a document man, clearing the documentation process required for inbound as well outbound tours. No sooner did I leave the organization to start on my own, within couple of months he too left the organization and started a clearing agency. In his previous job he had already worked with a CHA.
It was a chance meeting almost after 15 years, in-spite of being in the same city we never had an opportunity to meet. While sipping over a coffee he told me how is business had picked up since he had launched the business, initially it went off well servicing few clients. His team rose from 2 to 12, but “That’s it” he says. “From there on we never moved ahead an inch in the last 6-7 years”. I had few questions and then inquired about his team. “Of course! they are demotivated, but otherwise nothing wrong” said Bhaskar .
Sales & Customer Feedback
We met once again in his office we studied and analyzed his business operations and the dealings with his clients. We spoke to his sales team and went through previous sales records and customer feedback. Though, I was sure the clients would be happy with him, as his nature was to be helpful, who could go out of his way to see that the client is happy. But without having been able to register new clients he was stuck with the existing clients on the old fee structure. This situation was not helping him move forward all the more it was demotivating his team too.
Know your strength
Overall, we found nothing wrong with his business operations, an addition of few new client’s and a little motivation to his team should work, hence we suggested him with few solutions to;
- revamp his website content,
- extend his reach beyond his present limited self-drawn demarcation
- tap new upcoming markets,
- regular and consistent emailing through email automation
- focusing on his core competency and
- a week of training for his sales team.
Being a specialist in documentation processing of Impex, Bhaskar has vast knowledge, business experience, skill and team strength we discussed and concentrated his strength and grabbed the opportunity of “MOOWR” scheme to take him to the road ahead. He and his team persisted and was consistent on the daily inputs and he got his desired breakthrough.
Today he is happy with few additional clients by tapping new resources and a fully charged and inspired team. Even today when I ask him to go for a Sprint, his answer was as usual.
Bhaskar is just one case, we have seen entrepreneurs going relentlessly with the same process and procedures of yesterday & expecting growth in today’s market. The challenge is to understand the pain-points and implement remedial measures to get desired results. You should be innovative in approach, precise and clear about your goal and what you desire to achieve. Try different approaches, as there is no set formula. Especially during this post-pandemic times where advertisements and offers are less effective and there is a delay in decision making process. “The aim is to win a customer not a sale”.
Content marketing will help you to grab the attention of your target audience, guide them to your website / landing pages / POS giving you an opportunity to convert to a prospective customer.
